The heart is one of the most important organs in the human body.
Do you know we get energy to grow & do any work because of the oxygen getting mixed with our food. This oxygen is carried throughout the body by blood. But blood is pumped in all the body by heart only. That is why it one of the most important part of the body.

Our heart is located in left side of our chest and is well protected by a cage like structure made up of bones, which is called rib –cage.
Weight of human heart is about 300 grams, which is weight of an average apple.
The study of the human heart and its various functions is known as cardiology.
Our heart is made up of four chambers, the left atrium, right atrium, left ventricle and right ventricle.
Blood that leaves the heart is carried through arteries to various body parts. This is oxygen rich blood. The main artery leaving the left ventricle is known as aorta while the main artery leaving the right ventricle is known as the pulmonary artery.
Blood going towards the heart is carried through veins. This blood is oxygen-poor but full of carbon-dioxide.
